Closing Out Stress Awareness Month 😌💚 | Stepping Into a Healthier May ✨🌿

Hello Beloveds!

As April comes to a close, take a moment to pause ⏸️ and check in with yourself 💭—

How am I really doing?

Stress Awareness Month reminds us that stress is real 😮‍💨, it’s common, and it deserves our attention—not just getting by.

And now, as we step into Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠💚, the focus shifts from simply recognizing stress to actively caring for our mental and emotional well-being 🌿.

Here’s the truth:
You don’t have to carry everything by yourself 🤍
You don’t have to push through when you’re overwhelmed 😩
And you don’t have to wait until burnout to make a change 🔄

Sometimes, it starts with small things:

  • Taking a few deep breaths 😌
  • Turning off notifications 🔕 and giving your mind a break
  • Saying “no” when your plate is already full ✔️
  • Reaching out to someone you trust 🤝

Those small moments matter more than we realize ✨

To continue this conversation, I recently sat down with a fellow social worker to talk openly about stress, burnout, mindfulness, and how we can better take care of ourselves 💛—especially as people who often care for others first.

👉🏽 Watch the conversation here:

As we head into May, let this be your reminder:
Your mental health matters 🧠💚
Your peace matters 🌿
You matter 🤍

Let’s move into this new month with intention, compassion, and a commitment to take better care of ourselves—one small step at a time 🌱✨

Happy May 💚🌸

Hello Beautiful People , Happy April! And since this message is landing in your inbox on April 1st, let me say this right up front… Nope, this is not an April Fool’s message. 😊 Just a little real-life encouragement and a wellness resource I truly believe can bless someone. You may have noticed my March newsletter was quiet—and that was intentional. March is Social Work Month, a time when many of us in the field are often pouring into others and uplifting the communities we serve. This year I...

Hello, Happy February & Veg-uary! 🌿💛 In honor of Black History Month and Veguary, I wanted to share a new video—and a gentle conversation around health, food, and listening to our bodies. Now listen… I know talking about food can be a sensitive topic—especially those comfort foods we grew up on and enjoy together during the holidays and celebrations. This is not about taking away traditions, joy, or telling anyone what to eat. That’s not my role. What is my role is to share a little...

Hello Beloveds! Happy Holidays! As the holiday season settles in, small rituals can make a big difference. One of my favorites this year is a DIY holiday simmer pot (aka Potpourri)—a gentle, natural way to use scent to create warmth and comfort at home. Using fresh orange slices, cinnamon sticks, rosemary, and cranberries, this simple pot of simmering water allows natural aromas to slowly permeate the air. No essential oils required—just ingredients you may already have in your kitchen. This...
